Weekly Download #88: Math is Hard for Apple
Apple has difficulty counting numbers, I have horrible grammar, and most importantly, an apology....

`
Hey , it’s Sunday, June 1.
Let’s rip off the Band-Aid: if you opened our email last week, I owe you an apology.
Beehiiv rolled out a new way of building newsletters, and, well… last week’s was a disaster. Placeholders everywhere, unfinished sentences, just a total mess. That’s on me.
I’m not making excuses, but I’ll make sure it doesn’t happen again.
On the bright side, I renewed my Grammarly Premium subscription—because clearly, I need it. While I was at it, I ended up looking into a bunch of other editing tools too.
TL;DR Table
Tier | Recommended Tool | Best For | Key Caveat | Timing |
---|---|---|---|---|
Exceptional | Pro writers, content teams, agencies | Cost, privacy | ||
Value | Privacy, multi-language, cost-conscious | Slightly less style/advice | ||
Specialized | Long-form editing, deep narratives, customization | Learning curve | ||
Niche/ESL/Rewrite | Paraphrasing, ESL, rapid citations/summaries, rewriting | Not as deep re: analysis/report |
Final Verdict: In the end, I stuck with Grammarly—nine years in, I guess I’m loyal (or just a creature of habit).
Anyway, we’ve got a packed issue for you this week. Let’s jump right in.
