ChatGPT users have discovered a weird bug this week, as the popular LLM-based chatbot is censoring the name “David Mayer.”

I couldn’t find a source aside from Reddit and AI-slop type websites, so I tried it myself and…

Internet sleuths are on the case, but apparently, a professor named David Mayer was accidentally put on the No Fly List a few years back—perhaps it’s related?
