The Weekly Download #95: New Giveaway

Did you miss us? We're back from summer vacation and we're back with a vengeance.

Hey , it’s Sunday, July 27.

If you’re wondering where we’ve been the past couple of weeks, well, that’s a fair question. I could give you the long answer, but the truth of the matter is that I just needed a couple of weeks to recharge my batteries. That’s it, plain and simple.

Running a newsletter isn’t all that difficult. I mean, this isn’t a coal mine, and I’m certainly not developing the “black lung.” But when you factor in all the emails, planning, and everything else in between, it does take a toll on you mentally.

Now that I’ve had a couple of weeks to reset, I’m more fired up than ever to dive back in and deliver the stuff you signed up for. Thanks for your patience.

Alright, and we’re off!

🤑 GIVEAWAY

How to Block AI-Generated Images in DuckDuckGo

AI-generated images are flooding the internet, and sometimes you just want the real thing. DuckDuckGo has rolled out a new filter that lets you hide synthetic images from your search results. Here’s how to use it:

  1. Go to DuckDuckGo.com in your browser.

  2. Search for any image (like “adorable ducks riding bicycles”).

  3. Click on the Images tab at the top of the results page.

  4. Find the menu labeled AI images above your image results.

  5. Select Hide from the dropdown to block AI-generated images.

Changed your mind? Just switch the filter back to Show to see AI images again.

The filter isn’t perfect, but it makes it a lot easier to find authentic photos without wading through algorithm-generated fakes. Big search engines like Google and Microsoft don’t have this yet—so DuckDuckGo is leading the way for now.
